Ready Made Shrouds

Each Sacred Wings shroud is one of a kind and available to purchase now. Once it has found a home, it will not be reproduced, although I can sometimes create a new piece inspired by its colours, materials or spirit.

Some are complete and ready to use. Others can be gently personalised by adding meaningful fabrics, creating new ties or sashes, or incorporating botanical prints, embroidery or words.

Every shroud is handmade in my Brighton studio and comes with detailed guidance for families or funeral directors wishing to shroud the body themselves.

Please note: the price of the shroud does not include a willow stretcher or carrier.

This will need to be arranged separately, either through the funeral director or directly from a willow stretcher maker. I can recommend excellent makers if needed.

Made from exceptional loom-state heavy Irish linen in its most natural, unbleached form. Optional botanical ties or an eco-printed silk sash add a personal finishing touch.

Inspired by the poetry of nature, this gentle shroud may suit someone who loved gardens, moonlight and the changing seasons.

Made from repurposed cotton bed linen printed with cyanotype plants and moons, finished with three matching botanical ties. Particularly suited for use within a Sacred Wings cover or inside a coffin.

Please note, that for cremation, an oval tray is needed as in examples further down.

A bold yet quietly elegant shroud for someone drawn to colour, artistry and beautifully crafted textiles.

Made from very heavy rich blue flax originally woven for a National Trust property, it is finished with an ecoprinted silk sash and mulberry velvet details. The sculptural folds create places for letters, flowers or small keepsakes, becoming part of the farewell itself.

A simple shroud made from 100% pure Irish linen. Inspired by the ancient practice of swaddling, it is made from one continuous piece of fabric and secured with three soft ties. Suitable for use with a coffin or or combined with a Sacred Wings Soft Cover. Step by step instructions are included. The ties can be personalised with printed messages or embellished with meaningful fabrics.
